Could this running brand rescue Vans owner VF Corp?

The Altra footwear brand’s revenue grew 40% in Q2 and is on pace to offset ongoing declines at the company’s faltering skater brand. Vans had some momentum earlier in the year, but Q2 marks the second straight quarter with disappointing results, in what Needham analyst Tom Nikic called an “excruciatingly long Vans turnaround.” “While there are still green shoots at Vans, and guidance is for trends to improve significantly in [the second half of the fiscal year], the glacial pace of the turnaround continues to be frustrating,” he said in a Wednesday client note.

Hasbro names third Wizards of the Coast president in under 5 years
Dan Ayoub, who now leads Wizards and Hasbro Digital Games, has been playing D&D with the same group of friends since he was 10 years old. Ayoub is leading a game he has been playing since he was 10. He has played Dungeons & Dragons with the same group of friends since that age, and picked up Magic: The Gathering the year it launched, according to Hasbro. Now, Ayoub will head up Magic, D&D, Duel Masters and Hasbro Digital Games, including Exodus and Warlock.

Jos. A. Bank puts customer experience at the center of new store concept
The menswear retailer’s new space, which was developed using customer insights, features an area for consultations, fittings and personalized service. Years after emerging from bankruptcy, Jos. A. Bank’s parent company is plotting its brick-and-mortar buildout. In 2020, Tailored Brands, the parent company of Jos. A. Bank, Men’s Wearhouse, Moores and K&G, eliminated $686 million in debt following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. After spending decades as a publicly traded company, the clothing conglomerate is now owned by its creditors . But Tailored Brands has been inching toward rejoining the stock market and mapping out its physical store expansion.

Etsy CEO addresses friction of AI vs. human creativity
The e-commerce marketplace saw active buyers in Q3 grow for the first time in two years and is utilizing AI to improve product recommendations. Etsy is aiming to implement AI use across the business without alienating shoppers and sellers who care deeply about human creativity. “We believe AI will fundamentally change how people discover and shop, and we are leaning into that change,” Etsy CEO Kruti Patel Goyal said on a call with analysts Wednesday.

Aritzia banks on store openings, product expansions to double revenue in 5 years
The company plans to open as many as 14 U.S. stores a year and expand into bags, beauty and shoes on its path to becoming “world-famous.” With approximately 145 stores in North America and digital revenue of about CA$1.3 billion in fiscal 2026 that contributed just over a third of the company’s net revenue, Aritzia isn’t exactly a newcomer to the fashion stage. However, CEO Jennifer Wong told investors and analysts on Tuesday that the company’s goal was about more than increasing its bottom line. “The next years [are] about doubling down,” she said.

Target overhauls Threshold home goods brand
The $3 billion private label has improved quality, merchandising and, in some cases, prices, and added more than 800 items to the assortment. Target has reworked its largest home goods private label, Threshold, part of a merchandising overhaul under CEO Michael Fiddelke. Threshold notches almost $3 billion annually, the retailer said Tuesday. As with other recent efforts from Target , there’s a focus on affordability. Prices on some Threshold items have been lowered, including a $20 price cut on certain comforters.
