Walmart dishes up holiday meal deal

The retailer’s offering for 2026 can feed 10 people for $35 and includes 18% more items than its bundle last year. Walmart has laid out a Thanksgiving meal deal that’s priced competitively with what the many grocery chains it competes against are offering. Ninety-six percent of the items included in the deal have temporary price rollbacks, including four of the five national brand items. This offering also includes more items than last year’s. New additions this year include Jiffy corn muffin mix, whipped topping for pumpkin pie and ingredients for sweet potato casserole.

Carter’s new chief product officer is from H&M
The children’s apparel retailer made a number of other leadership changes. Meanwhile, the company reported a “volatile” Q3, according to analysts. Carter’s is ready to elevate its product offering and is bringing on a fast-fashion leader to support its vision. Gemzell was with H&M for over 20 years, where she most recently helped build the brand , develop products and lead innovation efforts via sustainability and circular design, per her LinkedIn. She will join Carter’s in early 2027 and will lead design, merchandising, licensing and product development.

Reebok chooses Foot Locker as exclusive partner for Question shoe relaunch
After reentering the basketball arena last year, the retailer’s latest effort in the space is a reimagining of Allen Iverson’s 1996 Reebok Question. Reebok is going back to the ’90s for its most recent basketball effort. The athletics retailer, which reentered the performance basketball arena last year, is introducing a new version of the Reebok Question that debuted in 1996 alongside Allen Iverson. The Reebok Question Mid Recoded preserves the same design as the original but features improved cushioning and traction, per a company press release. The shoe, which will cost $170, launches Nov. 10 in the U.S.

Walmart plans $400M Texas distribution center
The retailer expects to break ground on the more than 744,000-square-foot facility in Cibolo this February. Walmart plans to build a 744,433-square-foot distribution center in Cibolo, Texas, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation document dated Oct. 28. The estimated $400 million investment — which includes office space — is set to break ground in February, per the filing. The distribution center has an expected completion date of Aug. 1, 2029. The new build comes after the retailer noted earlier this year that it expects supply chain spending to “peak” over the next two years.
